WelcomeThis site deals with name and armorial issues that are of interest to the people of the Kingdom of Atenveldt ("book heraldry"). Here you can find
The site continues to change and to be implemented. Please feel free to browse through it, to offer comments upon it, and to come back often. There is such a thing as Online Consultation! If you cannot make it to a local fighter practice, or you live in an area without a herald, or you just want to know more about onomastics and armory, this is a good way to find out. Contact Marta as tu Mika-Mysliwy, Parhelium Herald (brickbat@nexiliscom.com). This is the branch of the Atenveldt College of Heralds that handles submissions and the staff will do its best to answer questions or direct you in the right direction. There is also such a thing as Direct-to-Kingdom Submissions. Again, if you cannot attend local fighter practices or populace meetings, or if you live in a small group without a herald, you can prepare your own name and device submission packets and send them, with appropriate fees to the Office of the Parhelium Herald. Be aware of the following:
NOTE: You are strongly encouraged to contact Parhelium prior to submitting items directly to Kingdom; it is easier to check name documentation and correct possible errors in armory before the paperwork is filled out, copied, colored and mailed out. For more information on the submission process, please contact the Parhelium Herald, Tibor the Indecisive. Submissions and appropriate fees can be mailed to: Jamie Bradford Online System for Commentary and Response ("OSCAR"). This is an S.C.A. College of Arms website. All Kingdoms' Letters of Intent are posted here, and it's a useful site to visit and see the latest submissions from throughout the Known World. Reading entries also helps gain insight into what constitutes good documentation and good period armorial style, too. You can find OSCAR waiting in the wings: http://oscar.sca.org/index.php?action=102 |
